What a year it’s been! More than the wine, WOTR is about the people and places I’m privileged to meet and visit. No scores, no tasting notes… just fun, smiling faces and passion!

When I decided to become a certified Sommelier a couple of years ago, it had to do with my passion for wine and the fact that I wanted to learn as much about it as I possibly could. Little did I know, the more you learn, the more you realise how little you know!

When I started Wine On The Rocks just over a year ago, passion was the driving force as well… little did I know that it would take off as it did! As a creative professional, one hopes his/her work will be felt, understood, liked, whatever. WOTR is pretty much my “wine world ideal”: fun, a little edgy but never rude… OK, not all the time, the highest quality possible with the means at hand, and most of all, FANTASTIC PEOPLE. Since we don’t live in an ideal world, the wine industry, as any other, is filled with many a prick but hey… who ever said that perfection was anything worth achieving?!

In the end, life truly is that which you make it. It’s difficult enough so why make it even more difficult by complicating things? Have fun, stay focused, forget everything you’ve ever learned, be YOU and most of all… do whatever the fuck you want :-)

Thanks again for a fantastic 2010. 2011 will bring more than its fair share of exciting projects… but that’s another post.
